Welcome to CVForge. By accessing or using our AI-powered CV generation platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using the Service.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, signing in via Google or GitHub OAuth, or otherwise accessing the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and agree to these Terms in full. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you further represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service.
The Service
CVForge is an AI-assisted curriculum vitae (CV) and résumé generation platform. Users provide personal career information ("Experience Input") and a target job description; the Service processes those inputs through a third-party large-language model (currently Google Gemini) and returns a tailored CV draft in Markdown format ("Generated Output").
The Service is provided "as is" and is subject to change or discontinuation at any time. We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features without prior notice.
Accounts & OAuth Authentication
Access to the Service requires authentication via a supported OAuth provider (currently Google and GitHub). By signing in you authorise CVForge to receive your public profile information (name, email address, and avatar) from that provider. We do not receive or store your OAuth provider password.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your OAuth provider account.
- You must notify us immediately at the contact address in Section 16 if you suspect unauthorised access to your CVForge account.
- Each person may hold one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent quotas is a material breach of these Terms.
- We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that are inactive for more than 12 consecutive months.
Plans & Generation Quotas
The Service is offered under three subscription tiers. Quotas are measured in CV generations per rolling 30-day period and reset automatically.
| Plan | Monthly Generations | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 | $0 / month |
| Pro | 25 | $9 / month |
| Enterprise | 55 | $29 / month |
Unused generations do not roll over to the following period. Quotas are per account and may not be transferred or combined between accounts.
We reserve the right to adjust plan limits with 30 days' notice. Existing paid subscribers will be notified by email and may cancel before the change takes effect.
Payments & Billing
Paid plans are billed through Paddle, our authorised Merchant of Record. By upgrading to a paid plan you agree to Paddle's terms of service and authorise recurring charges to your chosen payment method.
- Billing cycle. Subscriptions are billed monthly, beginning on the date you first upgrade.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date via your Paddle billing portal.
- Refunds. All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you cancel mid-period, access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will retry up to three times over seven days. Continued failure may result in downgrade to the Free plan.
- Taxes. Prices displayed are exclusive of VAT or local taxes, which Paddle will calculate and collect where applicable.
- Price changes. We will give 30 days' written notice of price increases. Your continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
Your Content
You retain full ownership of all Experience Input you submit and all Generated Output produced using your inputs. By submitting Experience Input you grant CVForge a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process, store, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
You represent and warrant that:
- All Experience Input is accurate and relates to your own professional history or to candidates for whom you have explicit written consent to act.
- Your inputs do not infringe third-party intellectual property rights, contain defamatory material, or violate any applicable law.
- You will not submit sensitive personal data of third parties (e.g. other people's contact details, financial information, or health data) without their consent.
We do not use your Experience Input or Generated Output to train AI models. Generation history is stored solely to provide the dashboard and retrieval features.
AI-Generated Output & Accuracy
Generated Output is produced by an AI language model and is provided for informational and drafting purposes only. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate content. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all Generated Output before use.
- CVForge makes no guarantee that Generated Output is factually accurate, free from errors, suitable for any particular employer or ATS system, or compliant with applicable employment laws or regulations in your jurisdiction.
- Use of the Generated Output in any job application is entirely at your own risk. CVForge accepts no responsibility for outcomes arising from such use, including failure to obtain employment or any negative consequences from inaccuracies.
- The "ATS-optimised" label is a description of the formatting approach taken; it is not a guarantee of compatibility with any specific applicant-tracking system.
Prohibited Use
You must not use the Service to:
- Generate CVs containing false credentials, fabricated employment history, or fraudulent qualifications.
- Create CVs on behalf of third parties without their explicit, informed consent.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying AI model, prompt templates, or any proprietary components of the Service.
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with rate limits, access controls, or security features.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or Generated Output without written permission.
- Submit inputs that are obscene, harassing, defamatory, or that violate applicable law, including data protection legislation.
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service outside of any officially published API.
Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
Intellectual Property
The CVForge name, logo, website design, system prompts, source code, and all proprietary platform components are the exclusive intellectual property of CVForge and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of these assets to you.
You are granted a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service solely for its intended purpose. This licence does not permit copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative works of any platform component.
Privacy & Data
Our Privacy Policy (available at the link in the footer) governs how we collect, use, and protect personal data. Key points relevant to these Terms:
- Profile information (name, email, avatar) is collected from your OAuth provider at sign-in and stored to operate your account.
- Experience Inputs and Generated Outputs are stored in your generation history and may be deleted by you at any time via the Dashboard, or by contacting us.
- We transmit Experience Inputs to Google's Gemini API for processing. Google's API data processing terms apply to that transmission. We do not control Google's data handling beyond what is stipulated in our API agreement.
- Payment data is handled exclusively by Paddle; we do not store card details.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
CVForge is not a professional careers advisor, recruiter, or employment lawyer. Nothing in the Service constitutes careers, legal, or professional advice. Use of the Service does not create any advisory relationship between you and CVForge.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CVFORGE AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL CVFORGE'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CVFORGE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Termination
By you. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Deletion removes your stored generations. Paid subscriptions must be cancelled via Paddle before the next billing date to avoid further charges.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your account with or without notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, abused the Service, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your licence to use the Service immediately ceases.
Sections 6 (Your Content – ownership), 9 (Intellectual Property), 11 (Disclaimers), 12 (Limitation of Liability), and 15 (Governing Law) survive termination.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice by displaying a prominent banner on the Service or by emailing the address associated with your account. The "Effective" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel any paid subscription.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, the dispute shall be referred to binding arbitration or the courts of the jurisdiction in which CVForge is registered, as required by law.
You and CVForge each waive any right to pursue disputes on a class-action basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.
